My Updated Skincare Routine- 4/11/19

I hope some of these products make it into your cabinet and your skin loves them as much as mine. I have tried tons of green beauty and nontoxic products and these are the ones that truly work for me. I don’t naturally have perfect skin and I have always been more prone to breakouts but with these products, I have seen some amazing results. I feel confident in my skin and love that I don’t have to use a strong product packed with chemicals that are only putting a bandaid over my skin issues and affecting my body negatively long term. My tip for transitioning to nontoxic products is changing a product one at a time. When you run out of cleanser, try a new one! It may take your skin a little adjustment time but I have found what works for me. My hope is to make that transition a bit easier for you by sharing all my favorite products!

One Love Organics Vitamin B Enzyme Cleansing Oil + Makeup Remover

This cleanser is rated five stars and bestseller on almost every site, and I know why… it’s incredible! I have been using it for about 3-4 months now- I’m completely obsessed. I was a little nervous about an oil-based cleanser but this one is unreal. Plus, if you wet your hands a bit then it creates a light sud/lather!

How I apply: I lightly wet my hands and then apply two pumps of the Cleansing Oil all over my face and neck. You could do this with a dry face but I like to have a little water on my hands which makes the oil cleanser slightly foam. After the cleanser is applied and rubbed evenly on my face/neck, I then deeply clean with my BFF Face Scrubber. For the next 7 days, you can purchase one for 40% off- taking it from $99 to $59! The BFF is made from silicone and uses high frequency to release blackheads, clogged pores, dirt, oil, and gives you a beautiful glow. I also feel like I have less inflammation in my face when I use it regularly. After scrubbing with my BFF, I heat hot water under the sink and wet a washcloth and ring it out. I gently rub off all the oil/makeup. You may need to wet and rub the washcloth twice to ensure all the makeup and dirt are removed.

Note- If its a night out where I have a lot of makeup on then I will do a “double cleanse” and wash my face twice with the oil cleanser, but I only use my BFF the first round.

*other face washes I use but not daily*

  • FitGlow Detox Cleanser– I love this face wash for those with acne prone skin. It contains activated charcoal and really digs deep to remove dirt. I don’t use this one daily but if I notice any breakouts coming along then it is my go-to. Or, if I am on vacation or wearing lots of makeup daily then I sometimes use this FitGlow facewash after washing my face with the Cleansing Oil.
  • Acure Brightening Facial Scrub OR Josh Rosebrook Active Enzyme Exfoliator– These are my ride-or-die exfoliating face washes- I use one of them 3x a week. I always have the Acure on hand + it’s a great price point, but the Josh Rosebrook is absolutely amazing, too. What’s cool about the Josh Rosebrook one is that you can scrub it on and then leave it for about 10 minutes and it works as a mask for a deeper clean.

Indie Lee Co Q10 Toner

Another best seller that I absolutely love. This is definitely the best toner I have used so far. Its super hydrating and alcohol-free. It features CoQ10 and moisture-boosting hyaluronic acid. I apply this after washing my face with my Marley’s Monsters reusable face pads -I saturate the pad with the toner and apply all over face and neck morning and night.

La Bella Figura Modern Radiance Concentrate

Okay, this stuff is definitely pricier, but it worked wonders for my skin. If you follow the link and use code ‘madaleigh15’ at checkout then you will receive 15% off! This has worked wonders for my dark spots. I use two pumps every morning and night after my toner and apply it all over face and neck. It’s extremely lightweight and my skin drinks it up. If you struggle with discoloration then this might be the product for you!

“This Vitamin C gel cream formulated with advanced technology from actives derived from cellular extraction of the world’s highest source of complete Vitamin C found only in Australia’s wild harvested kakadu plums. Unlike most Vitamin C on the market today (which are usually isolates) the Vitamin C in kakadu plum is a whole and potent source containing intact bioflavonoids and phytochemicals such as ellagic and gallic acids which enhances the viability and stability of this exceptional and non-comparable form of Vitamin C.”

Maya Chia The Eye Achiever

Comes with a roller ball on top so makes it super easy to apply. Formulated with nutrient-dense astaxanthin, sea fennel, sea lavender, wakame, and algae, the oil blend visibly brightens and refreshes the eye area’s appearance.

A few other eye serums I’ve tried and love:

  1. CocoKind MyMatcha Stick– This is great when traveling for lips and eyes to stay hydrated.
  2. Tata Harper Restorative Eye Creme– a bestseller that you’re sure to love. Packed with Vitamin E!

Serum: I am currently using Vitners Daughter Active Botanical Serum, but I switch my serums every time they run out. Below are my current top 3 go-tos that I will always love!

  1. Lauren Anti-Inflammatory Serum
  2. Vitners Daugther
  3. Buca Botanicals Camellia and Rose Serum– use code ‘madaleigh15’ at checkout for 15% off.

Laurel Healing Balm

This stuff is life changing and something I will always use. I am currently out and miss it so much. If you live in Dallas you MUST get an organic facial at Misaotra where she only uses Laurel products. I apply this every night after my serum. My skin soaks it right up. If you have a blemish, really focus on applying this directly to the spot and watch it works wonders. This balm can also be used on your body. If I have a cut, notice any dry patches of skin on Temple or even diaper rash, I apply a little of this balm!

Kypris Pot of Shade SPF30

If I know I will be outside then I apply this SPF last before my makeup. Super lightweight-my husband and I have been using it for a few years now.

  1. Do you recommend anything specific for dark circles under eyes? I am so self conscious about it and have tried a few things but nothing seems to make a difference. Thank you.
